Appeal after four fires in South Holland |
||
|
We've received four reports of fires across South Holland in the last 24 hours. With the hot, dry weather we've been experiencing, even a small fire can spread quickly and cause serious damage to fields, wildlife, property, and nearby communities. We're concerned that some of these incidents may be linked to anti-social behaviour involving young people and are asking parents, carers, and teenagers to take this message seriously. Starting a fire isn't harmless fun. Fires can quickly get out of control, putting people at risk and causing significant damage. Parents and carers, please talk to your children about the dangers and consequences of lighting fires. Young people, think twice before lighting a fire or encouraging others to do so. One poor decision could have serious consequences for you and others. If you witness anti-social behaviour or have information about those responsible, please report it by calling 101. If a fire is being started, is spreading, or there is a crime in progress or immediate danger to people, property or wildlife, call 999 immediately. | ||
